DIRECT CONTROL, LIVE IN RICHMOND 2006/07

First three shots were taken in Summer 2007 at a house show in Oregon Hill on the old Bonezone block. I believe everyone was so stoked that Direct Control went across town and played again at Nara Sushi right before last call. Last two were from a show at the Nanci Raygun. I think this might have been the Rat Byte/The Shit show that DC played, but I can’t really remember! Could have also been the show for Aghast Justin’s b-day with all the crust ragers.. Either way, one of the best live bands in Richmond for awhile, so much energy! Brandon, Eric, and Baybay all had the skills to riff the bills to shreds.

Found some stray pieces of my old archives around, stay tuned for some more cool older pix! I don’t think I can really print this stuff, but its at least big enough for screen view!

LAST GOVERNMENT WARNING SHOW, OCTOBER 2011, STRANGE MATTER, RICHMOND, VA

Wasn’t too proud of these photos at first, but I realized it doesn’t matter because this show was more important to me than many as of late. These dudes were the first punk band that I followed around, saw basically every local show from, and also notably the first band to print my photos in an LP jacket (still in print). Kenny Ball told me at this show that he remembers lil 17 year old Tony telling him at Nanci Raygun show once that I felt I could photograph these dudes forever. Still feel that way. Props for the killer run, RIP GOVERNMENT WARNING 2005-2011

SPAZZY T @ TEXAS BEACH, RICHMOND VIRGINIA, SUMMER 2009Shot with Yashica C TLR 120 6x6 probably on Tri-X or Plus-X. I dropped the camera in the river sometime after I shot this, you can blame that for the waterspot. Camera still works, though!

PAINT IT BLACK, TWO FUNERALS, BODYCOP @ COUCH HEAVEN, RICHMOND VIRGINIA, WINTER 2010

Definitely approached ‘WHAT A SHOW’ status on this evening.. I remember dudes showing up at 9:30 just to ask if it was foreal that PiB would be jamming at the vibe loft that was Couch Heaven. They showed up to play after jamming downtown at the United Blood fest going on the same night.. This was also after they played a house show in Philly a day or two before, they seemed really stoked that RVA had similar (ahem, better) offerings for them! Also RIP BodyCop AND Two Funerals!! The Gift played this show too, but my pix of them sucked!

SELECTION OF PHOTOS FROM SEPTEMBER WEDDINGS, 2011

The first three are of my great old friend Cathleen (Coco) McBride and her man Mark Saunders! The last three are of two people I’ve gotten to know since my time spent in this city, great folks, Ben Cronk and Jonti Simmons! The first ceremony/reception was held on the Mcbride family property in our old SE VA hometown of Burrowsville, VA. The second ceremony was in Amherst, VA at a beautiful old country home that I’m forgetting the name of at the moment! I don’t normally do weddings, the couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with are typically just good friends of mine. These two ceremonies were no exception, and certainly some of the most positive experiences I’ve had in quite awhile! Thanks and congratulations to all four of yall!
